Large companies should pay higher salaries to CEOs and other executives than to other workers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is common for CEOs and other executives to have higher salaries than regular employees, but some people argue that this is a harmful practice. In my opinion, executives should be paid more, but the difference should not be overwhelming.

On one hand, the role of top executives is critical to the success of a company, as their decisions can have a significant impact on the organization's growth, profitability, and competitiveness. As a result, companies need to attract and retain talented leaders by offering high salaries and compensation packages. Paying high salaries to executives is also a good way to align their interests with those of the company. Much of their pay is usually tied to bonuses or stock options that become more valuable if the company performs well. This helps encourage executives to work harder and make decisions that benefit the success of the company.

However, I would argue that an organization’s leaders should not be paid substantially more than other employees. Doing so would, first of all, create resentment among regular employees, who may see it as unfair that top executives can earn millions of dollars while they struggle to make ends meet. The situation results in unmotivated employees who are less invested in the company’s success and are more likely to leave for other organizations. Another argument against higher executive pay is that it is contributes to income inequality. Having a widening income gap between the rich and poor leads to social and political instability, which any country should do their best to avoid.

In summary, though there are benefits to paying executives more, their salaries should not be far higher than that of normal employees.
